Maximum allowed latency for local command execution. Speed and privacy are inseparable.
Local-First Preference
We exclusively vet and recommend devices that allow for local API control. By decoupling your smart home from the manufacturer's cloud, your commands stay within your Wi-Fi network, ensuring your data is never harvested for third-party advertising.
No Mandatory Cloud
Craftly stands against the "Subscription for Function" model. If a device requires a mandatory cloud account to perform basic tasks like turning on a light, it fails our audit and is excluded from our consulting catalog.

The Sanctuary Constraint
Smart home integration starts with a simple question: "Does this device respect the physical boundary of the home?" At Craftly, we implement hardware as a subset of your privacy, not an exception to it.
If you prioritize security, we design systems that use localized voice processing. Your conversations stay between you and your walls, processed on high-performance hubs within Ontario's borders.
Ethical Vetting Process
Firmware Origin Defense
We analyze the origin of every device's firmware. Devices with hardcoded external server connections are flagged. Our Integration Services focus on hardware that supports firmware flashing or segregated VLAN control.
The 'Switch-Ready' Principle
Technology is a supplement, not a dependency. Every integration we craft ensures that manual physical switches always work, even if the hub, Wi-Fi, or internet connection is completely offline. Safety is non-negotiable.
Zero-Log Integration
We configure your smart home environment so Craftly holds no keys. Once setup is complete, all credentials and administrative access remain exclusively on your devices. We do not store resident logins or camera feeds.
Does Craftly have access to my cameras?
No. We configure your system using HomeKit, Home Assistant, or localized Hubitat bridges so only you hold the decryption keys. We never store or transmit your visual data.
What happens during an internet outage?
Our "Switch-Ready" principle ensures that all primary lights, heating, and locks remain physically operational. Your smart features will resume automatically once connectivity returns.
